In 2023, I began documenting the Miskito people, an indigenous and marginalized group in La Mosquitia, Honduras. This region, located by the Caribbean Sea, is home to Honduras' last significant primeval forest. Unfortunately, centuries of logging and frequent fires have degraded much of the land, making it difficult for the Miskito people to thrive. One local shared, “The need for food never ends, education cannot rise, there’s no healthcare, and there are no jobs.” Climate change and natural adversities further threaten their survival and escape from poverty, making forest restoration a critical hope.
With a background in music videos, I'm dedicated to creating stunning visuals. My experience with fast turnarounds and a deep understanding of sound and storytelling enabled me to single-handedly write, produce, color correct, mix, and score this documentary. My newfound passion for helping the Miskito people drives my work. No project is too big or too small, as long as there's a story to tell.
